New Scout leadership resource launched

Taking The LeadScouts. . . Taking the Lead is designed to help adult Leaders develop leadership skills with young people in the Scout Troop. It will help you promote the active participation of your Scouts in the day to day running of your Troop. The resource will also help to increase their participation in the decision making process of The Scout Association - at local, national and indeed international levels. Most importantly, it will help young people become better leaders, both within Scouting and in preparation for their adult roles in society.

The resource is divided into four sections.

Section 1 - Being in a team
In this first section we look at some of the issues raised by being in a team.

Section 2 - Self development
In the second section, we encourage the development of the attributes of a good leader.

Section 3 - Leading a team
Here we provide opportunities that allow the Scouts to move towards the responsibilities of leadership.

Section 4 - The wider picture
In this final section, we encourage our Scouts to take the skills they have learned on to Explorer Scouting, the Young Leader Scheme and into the wider world.
