Spend 24 hours with Bear Grylls!

The Chief Scout, Bear Grylls, is holding a 24-hour wilderness survival camp on his island in Wales, and eight Scout Network members aged 18-25 will be lucky enough to join him.

When is the camp?

20-21 August 2011

Who can apply?

Any invested Scout Network member who was born between  22 August 1986 and 19 August 1993, and who will have completed the Queen’s Scout Award by 13 August 2011.

Where will the camp take place?

The island location is secret; you’ll find out exactly where if you are selected. However, if you love an adventure, it’s the perfect location to test out your skills and have a great time.

I’m eligible … What do I do now?

You need to fill out the application form, either online using the form on the application page, or by post. You are encouraged to include in your application evidence of what you have done to achieve your Queen’s Scout Award, showing why you deserve a place on the camp.

What kind of evidence do you want?

Supporting information could be in the form of photos, videos, citations from others, reports, blogs or whatever you feel will help you stand out from the rest. If applying online, please provide links to external hosting pages such as Youtube or Flickr.

When do I need to apply by?

The closing date for applications is 30 April 2011, but you can achieve your Queen’s Scout Award up until the week before the camp (13 August 2011). If you are applying before you complete the Award, tell us about the sections you have already gained, and what you’re planning to do to complete the Queen’s Scout Award.

How will the successful Scouts be chosen?

Based on the information submitted, a team of volunteers will make a shortlist to be judged by a final selection panel. The panel will include the UK Chief Commissioner.
