Your views on employee volunteering

16/02/2012

Does your employer go out of their way to help you to volunteer?  Or do they make it difficult for you to take part in scouting activities?

There are currently 34,500 young people waiting to join scouting due to a lack of adult volunteers.  As part of our ongoing commitment to support scout groups to recruit more volunteers, we are undertaking research to pinpoint the benefits employers gain by supporting their employees to volunteer in scouting.

Take 10 minutes out

We have surveyed over 250 employers. Now we need your views:

  • What skills have you gained through volunteering with scouting?
  • How has it helped you in the workplace?

Please complete our questionnaire about your experiences of volunteering and the level of support you received from your employer.

It should take no more than 10 minutes and the information will help us to raise awareness of the mutual benefits of volunteering to employers and employees. The more information you can give us the better, so if you have any particularly interesting experiences we’d love to hear about them in more detail.

Your employer's views too

We'd be grateful if you could also ask your employer to complete the survey to give their views about their experience of supporting a scout volunteer.

All surveys are completely anonymous and responses will be treated with the strictest of confidence.
