Jamboree and events in Norway

Following the tragic events in Norway the UK Contingent Management Team to the World Scout Jamboree is monitoring the situation closely and, at the current time, UK participation will go ahead as planned.
Parents, participants and adults should be assured that the safety of young people and adults is the number one priority. The Contingent Management Team will take any steps necessary to safeguard their wellbeing, while allowing them to take part in what will be the experience of a lifetime.
Suitable controls
Arrangements for the pre-event in Copenhagen have been reviewed to ensure suitable controls are in place to enable participants to enjoy the event in safety.
The Jamboree organisers have provided reassurrances that they have reviewed the security on the Jamboree site and will constantly monitor the situation.
The Contingent Management Team is currently in Sweden and Denmark and will continue to regularly monitor and review events.
