Active Citizens: Virgin Voters – engaging with young people in Nottingham

With a general election forthcoming, Scouting is looking for youth members (aged 14-25) and leaders to participate in Active Citizens: Virgin Voters. This forum, to be held in Nottingham, allows young people and prospective politicians to meet and discuss the national and local issues that matter to them.

Whether you are a ‘virgin voter’ or are/want to be involved in local volunteering or national campaigns through Scouting, this offers you the chance to share your views with the people that seek your support and representatives of other organisations including Oxfam, UK Youth Parliament and the Hansard Society.

The event takes place on 13 March from 11am to 1pm at the Belgrave Rooms, 25 Goldsmith Street. It is open to young people in Scouting but, if this is an opportunity your friends outside Scouting may be interested in, please let us know.

We want as many of those who would like to participate in Active Citizens: Virgin Voters to do so. That’s why we are offering a travel bursary of up to £30 for young people who are travelling further than 20 miles. We will also provide refreshments on the day.

If you would like to attend, please email with your postcode and section.

We look forward to seeing you there.
