IST – The Name of the Game

What follows is a set of terms and conditions to which we are asking all IST applicants to agree before they apply. You will be asked to acknowledge that you have read and agree to the terms on the application form.

  1. It is anticipated that the IST will be leaving the UK on the 23rd July, and leaving the Jamboree site on the 8th August 2011.

    • I commit to being available for the full period of Jamboree.

  2. When you arrive at the Jamboree you will be allocated a place in a multi-national IST Patrol.

    • I understand that I may not be working with my friends from the UK.

  3. There are no 9–5 jobs at the Jamboree, this is far from a holiday.

    • I understand I will be working long and sometimes unsociable hours.

  4. The Swedish Jamboree team will allocate you to your job, you will have no choice – this could mean you end up on the site services team cleaning toilets.

    • I understand that I will be expected to undertake the job allocated to me.

  5. You must have a flexible approach to work – your job may change during the course of the Jamboree.

    • I understand that I may not do the same job every day of the Jamboree

  6. The Jamboree organisers cannot guarantee to provide details of an individual’s role before the event.

    • I understand that I may not find out my IST role before I arrive in Sweden.

  7. Being a member of IST can be very strenuous, just getting to or from work may involve a 2km trek across the site.

    • I understand the site is large and there will be no transport available for IST

  8. The Jamboree site is an alcohol and drug-free site, anyone caught breaking this rule may be asked to leave the site.

    • I understand the consequences of breaking the no alcohol and drugs rule.

  9. If you are offered a place on the IST you will no doubt have a have a fantastic time and have loads of brilliant stories to tell when you get home.

    • I understand that my family and friends will be sick of hearing my fantastic Jamboree stories.
