Eastbourne District Scout (Fellowship) First Aid Team (EDSFAT) -
John Clark

EDSFAT is a Fellowship which provides First Aid Support to Scouting, whilst also having fun! We are based in Eastbourne, but aim to support District, County, National and International Scouting events. EDSFAT has a regular and ongoing learning program with occasional large training exercises. Although the team receives tremendous support from Eastbourne District, it is totally self-funding, meaning that we are involved in fundraising activities around the country and also sell First Aid and High Visibility equipment to raise funds. Our members were heavily involved with both Eurojam and the 2007 World Scout Jamboree and the team donated the use of a large amount of its equipment and vehicles to these events. EDSFAT also supports smaller camps and in particular has a very good relationship with the Cambridgeshire First Aid Team. The team currently operate a range of vehicles that enable it to best support events. This includes a fully equipped Front Line First Aid Unit (Ambulance), a Land Rover First Aid Unit, a First Aid trailer and an Event Communications vehicle. We are a very active Fellowship and are working strongly with Eastbourne and surrounding Districts to encourage young people to stay within the Movement beyond 18. www.edsfat.org.uk.
