
Committee Information Online
The Committee of the Council manages the business of The Scout Association in accordance with the Bye Laws of the Association. It is the Association's national decision making body. Its members are the Trustees of the Association.
The Committee decides the policy and rules of the Association. These are published in Policy, Organisation and Rules and in the various handbooks and other official literature of the Association.
The Committee delegates certain powers to four sub-Committees
- Finance sub-Committee
- General Purposes sub-Committee
- Headquarters Appointments sub-Committee
- Operations sub-Committee
The membership and terms of reference of these sub-Committees is determined by the Committee of the Council. The Chairmen of the sub-Committees, other than the Headquarters Appointments sub-Committee which is an Ex-Officio appointment, are elected annually by the Committee of the Council.
