Activity Resources
There are a range or resources to support and inspire you in providing a range of activities within Scouting.
Programmes Online
Programmes Online is a web-based programme planning tool designed to make it easier for adults to plan programmes for young people. It includes activities than can be run on their own or as part of a programme, whether that is a weekly meeting, activity day or residential event.
There is also the opportunity to add your own activity ideas for others to use, so if you run an activity that works well for you, please do add it to Programmes Online to share it with the rest of the movement.
Urban Outdoors
Urban environments allow us to try things that we have probably never thought about before. These activities can often take place right on your doorstep and at relatively little cost.
Urban Outdoors 1 (PDF) features 22 urban activities which are guaranteed to give your Scouts a real feel for the urban outdoors. There’s also information provided on visits that will help you soak up some of the urban atmosphere. If you are brave enough, you can have a go at the Extreme Challenges, but be warned, these are not for the faint hearted!
Urban Outdoors 2 (PDF) takes the activities from Urban Outdoors 1 and looks how to use them to:
- Increase the profile of Scouting through your local media
- Improve the connection with your community
- Get more young people and adults thinking and involved in Scouting
- Raise funds
Urban Outdoors 3 (PDF) helps you explore some of the more difficult areas of the Programme, such as global and values, the Urban Outdoors way.
Street Entertainment (PDF) gives ideas for some different types of creative activities that could help enhance your programme.
Activ8
Active8 (DOC) is a resource to assist with reviewing the provision of activities for your Group, District or County.
