Responsible to: Executive Director of Operations
Department: Safe Scouting
Base location: Gilwell Park, Chingford, London with UK travel and flexibility
Term: Permanent
Salary: £75,000 per annum
Hours: 35 hours per week
Line management responsibility: 1x National Safety Manager & 1x HQ National Safety Manager
A bit about the role
The purpose of this role is to lead the Scouts’ safety function in respect of both its employed staff, volunteers and young people and continue to develop and further embed formal strategies to improve safety in scouting.
It's a perfect time to join the service, our current Head of Safety has moved onto pastures new and you can have a big influence on continued improvements to the support we provide, leading a much strengthened team to deliver safety practices across the organisation and throughout the scouting movement.
You'll have strong backing from the Board of Trustees as well as the Executive and Volunteer Leadership teams to make a step change in our approach to Safety – and the resources to achieve it.
